Clinton’s Basket of Deplorables

When I heard these words from Hillary Clinton’s mouth, two month before the election, I thought, “OMG, did she really say that?!” Now I believe this comment cost her the presidency. It’s not rocket science: Voting is not compulsory in America. There is a huge silent majority … people who traditionally didn’t vote. Her comment rallied those people … against her. End of story.

So this is the story … going back to September 2016:

Speaking to a friendly crowd of wealthy donors at the LGBT for Hillary Gala in New York City on Sept. 9, 2016, Clinton said what Trump called "her true contempt for everyday Americans":

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic - you name it.”

There it is. And the rest will be history. Methinks those utterances will be judged in decades to come as some of the most costly to a politician ever.

Read  'Revenge Of The 'Deplorables'  in the Huff.  And  The Times  on Sept. 12.

Anyway, moving right along ... here's  Hillary Clinton's  best speech of her career.
