PORTRAITS
Having started out in the days of film and processing, I have practised photography for more than 45 years and developed a keen eye for light, composition and detail.

NEW: these days my default for shooting portraits is not anymore a studio session ... (I moved from my Cremorne studio) but a location shoot at Balmoral, my new home.

this is a typical 1 hour to 90 minutes photo session; cost $500
My charges are $185 per hour, minimum one and a half hours photography ($275) plus 3 hours editing & retouching at $75 per hour ($225); plus, on the day we may want a stylist for grooming & wardrobe advice, and if children are involved, for baby-wrangling (from $100). Total from $500 + GST
Note: I am happy to lock in the price of $500 for a 'normal' shoot; the 'from' applies to extended shoots, with a large family or if we decide on a location change, etc.
The session will yield at least ten different photos ... you will then receive hi-res files (for printing at your local print shop or Officeworks) and a lo-res Tumblr gallery.
A simple "head & shoulder" portrait, here in Balmoral (with a rock wall for a background) is $275 all inclusive; $275 is my minimum charge for a photo or six.
Coverage for production of a photo book (with 30 photos, Officeworks from $74.95) requires a shoot of 2.5 hrs, retouching 5 hrs, stylist 2.5 hrs = approx. $1,000 + GST
A location shoot (at your home) takes min. 3 hours + 6 hours editing & retouching, 3 hrs stylist = $1,200 + GST; this session includes aspects of your house.
A corporate portrait & office shoot costs from $1,250 (if a stylist is required, add $100/hr, i.e. appr $300 = $1,550. Here are a couple of samples.

For my glamour portraits I advise to use an experienced hair & make-up artist; professional make-up can do magic for you, just view the cinema ad (please note: My studio is not anymore 100m from the cinema) and look at Julia's transformation ... check out her pictures in the Sample Gallery.
