526 Guns

Once again a bloody massacre in the US, and the reason why is easily found: Racism. What a cop out ... how deluded are Americans, indeed how moronic.

President Obama is on the news pointing out the obvious: "This sort of thing doesn't happen in other advanced countries." Indeed, it happens in many South American countries, but it doesn't happen in any other developed country ... yet, there's racism in every single one of them, including Australia. The difference? Fathers don't give their twenty-one-year-old sons a handgun for their birthday; that's the difference.

Frankly, the joint is fucked, because with the National Rifle Association brainwashing all and sundry into believing their "freedom is at stake" if the gun laws are changed - and with them so powerful - nothing will change in generations. Good night America.

I've blogged about this before, 344 Guns. And I have an essay GUNS in my book en.light.en.ment

Wait, there's more. One of my heroes, Jon Stewart, speaks out; his thrust is in the direction of the blatant racism in America, while he acknowledges the stupefying disconnect between the reality of how "foreign" violence against Americans is looked upon (by ISIS, al-Qaida etc) against the self-inflicted violence at home:

I picked the link to this video up from the Fitz Files today, Peter FitzSimons (Stewart on fire) and I concur ... "I agree with very few of John Howard's policies, but he deserves the nation's everlasting gratitude for his strong stance on guns ..."
